NCDHHS Medicaid Managed Care Policy Paper: North Carolina’s Specialized Foster Care Plan

The paper was released on February 11, 2021, by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS). The state sought stakeholder comment on its plans to launch a specialty Medicaid managed care plan for children in foster care. On March 23, 2021, after reviewing the feedback, NCDHHS postponed the launch until July 1, 2023. The state anticipates that the delay will allow time for additional design and input on key features of the Foster Care Plan for children and youth currently and formerly involved in the child welfare system.
