Proposed Category II Change to Rhode Islands Global Consumer Choice Section 1115 Demonstration Waiver Effective July 1, 2011
June 2, 2011 The Rhode Island Department of Behavioral Healthcare, Developmental Disabilities, and Hospitals (BHDDH) submitted a Medicaid waiver change request to the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to change how BHDDH administers service delivery for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The state sought to add new IDD support services and to change its payment methodology as part of Project Sustainability, a collaborative effort to develop a long-term sustainable package of benefits and a transparent rate setting methodology.
