June 3, 2011 On June 1, 2011, a group of individuals with disabilities who are residents of long-term care facilities filed a federal class action lawsuit against the State of Ohio to prevent the state from eliminating Medicaid funding for community mental health (CMH) services provided to nursing home residents with disabilities. The state had planned to enact an emergency rule to eliminate CMH Medicaid coverage of mental health services provided to long-term residents of long-term care facilities.
