Proposed Rule: HIPAA Privacy Rule Accounting of Disclosures Under the Health Information Technology for Economic & Clinical Health Act
June 27, 2011 The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services proposed changes to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act giving patients additional rights to request reports from health care entities about how their personal health information has been shared and with whom it was shared. Health care entities will be required to provide two reports upon patient request.
