Hawaii House Bill 739 of 2011, A Bill Relating to Community Care Family Foster Homes
July 1, 2011 The legislation was signed on July 11, 2011; it permits community-based family foster homes (CCFFH) for adults needing nursing home level care to use uncertified nurses aides to provide up to five hours of care daily and 28 hours a week as secondary caregivers. The Hawaii Department of Human Services licenses CCFFHs to serve up to three residents; each must be assigned a certified nurses aide as a primary caregiver. The secondary caregiver must complete the same training as a certified nurses aide, but will not be required to take or pass the certification test. Download . . .
