Message to the Legislature of the State of Kansas
July 6, 2011 This message from new Kansas Governor Sam Brownback describes several legislative actions related to the budget. In one, Governor Browback noted that he had vetoed legislation that would maintain a prohibition against adding mental health drugs to a preferred drug list (PDL) for the state-funded MediKan program. The program serves 1,200 adults with disabilities who are unable to work, but not eligible for Medicaid or Supplemental Security Income.
