When Good Intentions Are Not Enough: Family Involvement In Getting Addictions Treatment For Our Adult Son

Over the past month, I felt the need to put into words what my family and I recently experienced in our efforts to influence my adult son to seek addictions treatment. Your article motivated me to do just that. I was struck by your statements, “but many times, these intentions do not have the benefit of organizational processes or measurement—and are largely dependent on the diligence of individual staff members” … “and these activities are often not linked . . .
