Approved Class Action Settlement in Sabo v. United States
August 12, 2011 On August 12, 2011, a settlement was was approved in Sabo v. United States, a class action lawsuit which was filed on behalf of disabled veterans who served in Iraq and Afghanistan who were discharged due to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) who were denied services. The U.S. military agreed to pay lifetime disability retirement benefits to the 1,029 veterans with PTSD who were denied these benefits upon discharge from the military following wartime service in Iraq or Afghanistan.
