Length of Time from First Use to Adult Treatment Admission
October 6, 2011 The Center for Behavioral Health Statistics and Quality, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administrations (SAMHSA) examined the length of time from an individual's first use of an addictive substance to admission to addiction treatment. On average of 15.6 years elapsed between first use of a primary substance of abuse and treatment entry.
