Antidepressant Use in Persons Aged 12 and Over: United States, 20052008
October 19, 2011 The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention researchers reviewed surveys and depression screenings of about 12,000 U.S. adolescents and adults during the years 2005 through 2008. They found about 11% of people over age 12 take antidepressants. About four percent of youth between age 12 and 18 take antidepressants. About 10% of adults over age 18 take antidepressants.
