Tennessee Department of Mental Health Order Suspending Admissions to New Life Lodge

On November 9, 2011, the Tennessee Department of Mental Health (DMH) suspended all substance abuse treatment admissions at New Life Lodge pending completion of 120-day investigation into the facility’s reporting of critical incidents. DMH had been investigating medical care provided by New Life Lodge following patient deaths during the last year. As of December 1, only seven patients remained at the 228-bed facility.
