Adult Mental Health Needs in California: Findings from the 2007 California Health Interview Survey
November 30, 2011 The report released by the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research concludes that approximately 2 million adults in California need mental health treatment but a large proportion receive no such treatment. According to the report, over half of those who need the treatment have not received any while another quarter report having received inadequate treatment, which is defined as making less than four visits with a health profession in the past 12 months or using prescription drugs to manage mental health issues.
