Non-profit ProMedica Health System is expanding its inpatient virtual service lines to expand access to specialty care. The expansion is funded by the FCC telehealth award program at the start of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) public health emergency (PHE). With these funds, ProMedica purchased telemedicine carts, remote monitoring equipment, and videoconferencing software. It secured more than $1 million in funding to place more than 1,000 carts and tablet devices at 20 hospitals and more than 300 skilled nursing facilities to facilitate telehealth visits during the PHE.
