CMS Approval of ‘Texas Healthcare Transformation and Quality Improvement Program’ (Project Number 11-W-00278/6)

December 12, 2011 The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services sent a letter to the Texas Health and Human Services Commission approving their request for a new Medicaid section titled Demonstration. The Demonstration has a purpose of expanding the existing Medicaid managed care programs, STAR and STAR+PLUS, statewide, and establishing two funding pools to assist providers with uncompensated care costs, and promote health system transformation.
