Ensuring Leadership Continuity—The Coleman Health Services Case Study

July 10, 2025

1:00 – 2:00 pm ET

Assuring leadership continuity is key to building the sustainable competency needed for organizational success, and it is accomplished with on-going investments in C-suite succession planning to build and maintain the bench strength of emerging leaders. There are two types of executive departures organizations must prepare for: planned departures (e.g., retirement) and emergency departures.

During this one-hour live presentation, Coleman Health Services chief executive officer and president, Hattie Tracy, and Vice President of Clinical Operations and Chief Clinical Officer, Dawn Carter, will discuss how they aligned their organization’s succussion planning with its strategic plan. This will include how to fill executive positions to support organizational growth, the difference between external hires and internal talent development, and supporting ongoing staff leadership development.

Executive attendees of this session will learn how to:

  • Align succession planning as part of a strategic plan
  • Provide communication and transparency about retirements and planning
  • Doing an executive search that is inclusive of internal and external candidates
