On March 17, 2020, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Trump Administration announced steps to expand access to telehealth services during the COVID-19 outbreak. Under the guidance of HHS and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the states have eased telehealth provisions to prohibit copayments or deductibles for services received; allow in-state and out-of-state providers to deliver telehealth services; authorize telehealth services to be reimbursed the same as face-to-face services; and modify existing health plan delivery to include additional services for treatment of COVID . . .
