Wisconsin’s Winnebago County Increases Mental Health Services As Need Rises
Circle Connections: New Products & Services Winnebago County recently increased the number of hours mental health professionals are available at the county jail in response to a steady increase in the number of inmates who suffer from mental illness. The sheriff's office contracts with Correctional Healthcare Companies, Inc., to provide medical and mental health services to inmates at the 355-bed Winnebago County Jail. The contract provides 40 hours of mental health services per week, an increase from 30 hours in 2011 and just 12 hours in 2008.
