Maryland-Based AHRQ Director Clancy Stepping Down After 10 Years
Circle Connections: New Talent Carolyn M. Clancy, MD, director of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) for the last ten years, will step down within months, according to a January 31 memo to staff from Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. Dr. Clancy, an internist, was named AHRQ director on February 5, 2003, and was reappointed in October 2009. Previously she had been director of AHRQ's Center for Outcomes and Effectiveness Research.
