The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Names First ACOs
Circle Connections: Awards & Accreditations The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) named six organizations as accountable care organizations: HealthPartners in Minnesota, Billings Clinic, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Essentia Health in Minnesota, Kelsey-Seybold Clinic in Houston, and Crystal Run Healthcare in New York. Like the Shared Savings ACO designation through the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI), the NCQA accreditation is voluntary. NCQA last year announced it as a way for healthcare organizations to demonstrate ACO readiness, as they must pass a series of measures. This was reported by Fierce Healthcare on February 19, 2013.
