Mental Health America Launches Public Awareness Initiative for Psychiatric Advance Directives

Mergers & Acquisitions In September 2011, Mental Health America launched a public awareness initiative to inform the public and the mental health community about psychiatric advance directives (PADs). Psychiatric advance directives allow individuals to specify considerations about their mental health care treatment and appoint an agent to speak on their behalf in the event of a mental health crisis. Part of the initiative is a new online resource about PADS called My Plan, My Life: My Psychiatric Advance Directive sponsored by Norvatis Pharmaceuticals Corporation.
