Volunteer Behavioral Health Adds More Beds To Detox Unit In Cookeville, Tennessee

Volunteer Behavioral Health, the oldest mental health, detox and residential treatment facility in the county, recently added 15 new beds to the existing 23 in their Cookeville detoxification unit. The new wing is being dedicated in honor of Dan Smith, who was the vice president of alcohol and drug services there for 34 years. The rooms are a safe, quiet space for people dealing with addiction and co-occurring disorders to have 24-hour medically directed evaluation and monitoring.
