24 Hour Home Care To Lay Off 738 California Employees After Medicaid MCO Discontinues Coverage Of Personal Care & Homemaker Services
California home care provider organization, 24 Hour Home Care, plans to lay off 738 employees, according to a California Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) filing. The layoffs are scheduled to take effect September 15, 2026. The company attributed the layoffs to Health Net’s planned discontinuation of Personal Care and Homemaker Services (PCHS), an optional Community Support under the insurer’s Medi-Cal managed care plans, effective January 1, 2027.
According to local news reports, Health Net also plans to discontinue Assisted Living Facility Transitions and extend contracts with provider organizations of both Community Supports through December 31, 2026 . . .
