$25 Million To Boston Medical Center Will Help launch Opioid Center
Boston Medical Center (BMC) recently received a $25 million gift, which it plans to use for combatting addiction disorder, particularly with opioid epidemic. BMC intends to do this through the creation of the Grayken Center for Addiction Medicine.
The center aims to battle the stigma that people struggling with addiction disorder are less deserving of treatment and compassion than those living with other medical issues. BMC anticipates that the donation will help to bring addiction closer to the forefront of philanthropic efforts, where it tends to be neglected.
