Acadia Healthcare Company, Inc. purchased real estate of three currently non-operational behavioral facilities in Illinois, including one adult hospital, one children’s hospital and an outpatient facility, all located on the north side of Chicago, Illinois. The company plans to make infrastructure investments to improve the facilities and then reopen them to operate as Montrose Behavioral Health Hospital. The company funded the transaction with cash on hand; other financial details were not disclosed.
Montrose Behavioral Health will open during 2022 and 2023. A 60-bed children’s hospital and the outpatient facility are expected to open in the summer of 2022. The 101-bed adult hospital, which will include geriatric services, is slated to begin operations in early 2023.
Acadia provides behavioral health care services across the United States. As of September 30, 2021, Acadia operated a network of 230 behavioral health care facilities with approximately 10,200 beds in 40 states and Puerto Rico.
