AHA, Philips, UPMC Launch $30 Million Venture Fund For Cardiovascular Innovation
The American Heart Association (AHA), the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, and Royal Philips recently partnered to back a $30 million venture fund for cardiovascular innovation. The new fund, named Cardeation Capital, will be managed by Aphelion Capital, and seek to innovate new technologies for the treatment and care of heart disease and stroke.
According to a statement from AHA, cardiovascular disease costs are projected to surpass $1 trillion by 2035, begging the need for new approaches in care. Cardeation Capital will have a special role in the partnership to seek out companies that are able to provide measurable prevention . . .
