Amazon Taps Ex-FDA Official For Its Health Team, 1492
Amazon recently announced that former U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) chief health informatics officer, Taha Kass-Hout, is joining its Grand Challenge team. Previously, he served as senior vice president and chief digital health and intelligence officer for Trinity Health.
Amazon’s Grand Challenge team—which internally goes by the name 1492—focuses on health care tech, exploring areas such as electronic medical record data, telemedicine, and health apps for existing devices such as Amazon Echo. In his new role, Mr. Kass-Hout will oversee business development for the Grand Challenge team’s projects in health care.
