American Foundation For Suicide Prevention & The Jed Foundation Announce Planned Merger

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) and The Jed Foundation (JED) announced plans to merge into a single organization, pending approval from the New York State Attorney General. The transaction is expected to be completed by fall 2026.

The combined organization would operate under the name AFSP/JED and focus on suicide prevention initiatives across multiple age groups. According to the organizations, the merged entity would have an annual operating budget of approximately $75 million and net assets of about $140 million.
