Amerigroup Georgia Launches Network Design Team To Improve Treatment Services, Placement, & Caregiver Support For Youth In Foster Care

In the wake of reports that Amerigroup Georgia, the Medicaid managed care organization (MCO) for youth in foster care, had denied or partially denied more than 6,500 requests for psychotherapy between 2019 and mid-2022, the company formed a Network Design Team to improve treatment services, placement, and caregiver support for foster youth. Through Georgia Families 360°, Amerigroup Georgia serves 32,000 youth involved with the state’s foster care system. The team includes a group of industry leaders who will formulate actionable strategies for the following broad issues:
