Apple Acquires Beddit To Enter Active Sleep-Tracking Market
Apple has purchased sleep-tracking Finland-based startup Beddit for an undisclosed sum. This marks the company's first step into the active sleep-tracking market. Apple was previously not part of the sleep-tracking market because their Apple Watch required nightly charging.
Beddit's current Bluetooth sleep monitor is an under-the-sheet sensor that uses a force sensor, touch sensor, humidity sensor, temperature sensor, and microphone to determine an array of sleep, heart rate, breathing, and snoring measurements.
