Armor Health Deploys ACE Geriatric Model Of Care At Franklin County, Ohio Correctional Facilities

Armor Health, which provides correctional health services, deployed the Acute Care for Elders (ACE) model of care at the Franklin County Correctional Facilities. Armor plans to expand the ACE model to other facilities nationwide where it has contracts.

The ACE model addresses care needs common among older detainees who may have complex medical needs due to chronic diseases, cognitive impairment, increased fall risk, sensory loss, and disruptions to medications and established routines. Armor’s clinical team adapted the ACE model for the correctional setting through standardized nursing order sets intended to promote consistent care across shifts.
