Athenahealth Cofounders Launch Insurance Startup Aimed At Medicare Advantage Members

Ed Park and Todd Park, cofounders of Athenahealth, recently launched a new insurance startup, Devoted Health. The startup focuses on Medicare Advantage members, and believes that consumers “should be treated like mom or dad.”

Devoted Health follows the trend of new insurance startups utilizing telemedicine to help consumers. Unlike other insurance startups, however, its use for telemedicine will primarily be for urgent care and remote expert second opinions. It is expected that the business’s main competitors will be Clover Health and Bright Health.
