Bereavement Support Platform Empathy Raises $72 Million & Unveils Empathy Alliance
Empathy, a company that provides a technology platform for end-of-life planning and bereavement support, raised $72 million in a Series C funding round. In the funding announcement, the company said it had formalized the Empathy Alliance, an investor coalition of market leaders seeking to reimagine cultural standards around access to support for navigating the logistical and emotional burdens of grief. Empathy is currently available throughout North America in partnerships with eight large life insurance companies and financial institutions. It also provides comprehensive employee bereavement benefits for Fortune 500 companies.
