Blue Cross NC Acquires FastMed’s 55 North Carolina Urgent Care Clinics

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) closed its previously announced acquisition of all 55 North Carolina-based locations of FastMed, which provides urgent care services. Blue Cross NC has been a non-controlling minority investor in FastMed since 2012, and the acquisition was announced on October 20, 2023. Financial terms were not disclosed. FastMed will operate independently from Blue Cross NC, and Jim Moffett, MBA, was named as FastMed’s CEO.
