Blue Shield Of California Adds Virta Health, Virtual Diabetes Program, To Statewide Network

Blue Shield of California added Virta Health, which provides a virtual lifestyle change program focused on reversing type 2 diabetes, to its statewide provider organization network for 2023 covering multiple lines of business. Starting in February 2023, the Virta digital diabetes solution can be accessed by Blue Shield members enrolled in Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plans for Individual and Family, Fully Insured, Administrative Services Only (ASO), and Medicare Advantage. Blue Shield is the first health plan in the state to offer Virta’s solution to members across multiple lines of business.
