Bonita House Temporarily Closes Dual Diagnosis Residential Program In Alameda County, California
Bonita House Inc. temporarily closed its dual diagnosis residential program in Alameda County, California for people with a mental health diagnosis and addiction disorder. The 15-bed facility has been closed since August, but the organization hopes to reopen it in late February or early March 2024.
The closure was attributed to funding problems because the county is in the process of transitioning how it reimburses for behavioral health services. According to Bonita House’s Executive Director Laura Weissberger, 10 of the 15 beds were reimbursed through the county’s Medicaid program.
