BradenHealth received approval from the Decatur County, Tennessee, Commission to acquire the Decatur County General Hospital and emergency medical services (EMS). BradenHealth intends to save the EMS agency, which was operating at a loss.
The hospital had closed on April 15, 2020. BradenHealth will invest $2 million in the hospital, which will bring 30 jobs back into the community.
Braden Health specializes in reopening rural health care facilities and trying to make them profitable again. According to spokesperson Kyle Kopec, chief compliance officer for the company, Braden Health currently operates hospitals in Henderson and Houston counties. It plans to open Haywood County’s hospital in October 2021 or later.
