BrainFutures & American Psychedelic Practitioners Association Release Practice Guidelines For Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy
The American Psychedelic Practitioners Association (APPA) and BrainFutures co-published the first Professional Practice Guidelines for Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy. The guidelines, based on existing clinical research and expert consensus, are intended for mental health professionals delivering psychedelic-assisted therapy. The partners intend to update the guidelines regularly as best practices evolve.
The guidelines address:
Justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion
Psychedelic-assisted therapy best practices
Use of psychedelics in indigenous and other settings
APPA is the national home for the diverse community of psychedelic practitioners. The organization seeks to safely integrate psychedelic-assisted therapy into the US healthcare system.
