Brown University Launches AI Research Institute With $20 Million National Science Foundation Grant 

With a $20 million grant from the U.S. National Science Foundation, Brown University researchers plan to launch an artificial intelligence (AI) research institute aimed at developing a new generation of AI assistants capable of trustworthy, sensitive, and context-aware interactions with people. The AI Research Institute on Interaction for AI Assistants (ARIA) intends to develop AI assistants for use in the mental and behavioral health fields. ARIA will combine research on human and machine cognition, with the goal of creating AI systems able to interpret behavioral needs and provide real-time feedback.;;
