California Awards Nearly $17 Million Through Elevate Youth California For Youth Substance Use Prevention
The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) awarded nearly $17 million through Elevate Youth California to 44 community-based and tribal organizations to develop and increase substance use disorder prevention services through civic engagement and culturally competent programs for youth ages 12 to 26. Elevate Youth California is a statewide DHCS program addressing substance use disorder. The awardees will focus on youth social justice, peer support and mentoring in low-income communities of color, including Tribal communities and LGBTQ communities.
The awards, valued at up to $400,000 each, are intended to help grassroots community-based and tribal organizations . . .
