Canadian Government Launches 9-8-8 Suicide Crisis Helpline  

Canada launched a new 9-8-8 suicide crisis help line, available around the clock across Canada in both English and French. The line is staffed by trained responders ready to offer support and compassion to those who call or text.;;

The Government of Canada provided C$156 million over three years to the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) to implement and operate the helpline. The government and CAMH worked with local partners nationwide for the launch.
