Catholic Charities Of Broome County, New York Terminating Family Counseling Program
Catholic Charities of Broome County is ending its Family Counseling Program, effective June 30. Participants were first notified in person at their sessions beginning in April, followed by a formal letter. Catholic Charities is working with participants to find alternate services in the community. The organization found the program unsustainable after a loss of $200,000 in state funding over the past 10 years. The program was recently billing insurance, and accessing United Way and Hope Appeal funding, but those alternate revenue sources could not offset the budgetary loss of the state funding.;
