Catholic-Dignity Merger To Form Non-profit Health Giant
Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and Dignity Health (Dignity) recently announced they are merging. The newly formed entity will be the largest non-profit health care system in the country.
The merger will result in a health system that operated in 28 states, includes 139 hospitals, and employs about 159,000 individuals. The two companies look forward to expanding on their commitment to meeting the needs of consumers regardless of their income, ethnicity, or language. While the new entity will operate under a new name, that name has not been disclosed at this time.
