Centene’s CFO To Retire In Early 2016

Bill Scheffel, chief financial officer of managed care company Centene Corporation, will retire in early 2016. The company announced the retirement will happen once it closes its pending transaction for Health Net. The new CFO will be Jeff Schwaneke, Centene’s current corporate controller and chief accounting officer. St. Louis-based Centene is in the process of buying Health Net for $6.8 billion, and once it closes the deal, which is expected to happen in early 2016, Scheffel will retire. Scheffel has been with Centene since 2003 and has served as CFO since May 2009.
