Chambliss Center Creates Tennessee Transitional Housing For Foster Children Over 18
Chambliss Center for Children is creating transitional housing for young adults who are still in the foster care system when they turn 18, and are therefore no longer eligible for state support. Studies show that almost one-fourth of foster children who reach age 18 while under state care become homeless once system support is revoked. The Center located in Chattanooga, Tennessee will offer a place to live for four young adults who have aged out of the foster system and teach them basic life skills.
