Children’s Inpatient Psychiatric Facility, Solnit Hospital, Becomes Part of UConn Health

Solnit Hospital, which provides inpatient behavioral health services in Middletown, Connecticut is now part of UConn Health. The 50-bed hospital serves children and adolescents, primarily ages 13 to 17.

Previously operated under the Connecticut Department of Children and Families (DCF), Solnit became part of UConn Health's hospital license on April 15, 2026. The facility continues to be staffed and operated by DCF employees under a lease arrangement.

Solnit provides specialized inpatient psychiatric care for adolescents who often have few, if any, alternative options for this level of care, making it a critical resource for consumers, families, referral hospitals . . .
