CMS Suspends Eight MIPS Improvement Activities For 2025
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) suspended 2025 reporting for eight improvement activities in the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) under the 2025 Physician Fee Schedule. MIPS is one track of the CMS Quality Payment Program (QPP) established to implement certain provisions of the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA). Eligible clinical professionals must submit performance data on measures and activities in four categories: Quality, Cost, Improvement Activities, and Promoting Interoperability. In future rulemaking, CMS intends to propose removing these currently suspended activities from MIPS. ;
