Community Health Systems Completes Sale Of Three Pennsylvania Hospitals To Tenor Health Foundation

Community Health Systems completed the sale of three Pennsylvania hospitals to affiliates of Tenor Health Foundation. The transaction included Regional Hospital of Scranton (186 beds) and Moses Taylor Hospital (122 beds), both in Scranton, and Wilkes-Barre General Hospital (369 beds) in Wilkes-Barre, along with certain related businesses.

The purchase price was $33 million in cash plus a $15 million promissory note from the buyer. Additional cash consideration may be received depending on collections of certain consumer accounts receivable in the 90 days following closing.

The deal was announced October 24, 2025, and closed February 1, 2026.
