WellStar Health System Receives Approval To Add West Georgia Health To Its System

Marietta, Georgia-based WellStar Health System has received approval from the state attorney general to add West Georgia Health to its system. West Georgia Health signed a letter of intent to join WellStar last May, and the two organizations plan to sign a definitive agreement in March. WellStar is also closing in on its acquisition of five hospitals owned by Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare. The organizations inked a definitive agreement last year. The Federal Trade Commission has wrapped up its review of the acquisition. WellStar expects that deal to close in April.
