D.C. Launches Behavioral Health Stabilization Center
The District of Columbia’s Department of Behavioral Health (DBH) opened a 6,400 square-foot Stabilization Center offering emergency crisis intervention care for adults, free of charge, with no insurance or residency requirements. The health care facility will offer resources for individuals experiencing addiction, as well as peer counseling and recovery resources.;
The site features recliners, beds, and secure lockers to safely store personal items during crisis care, typically lasting 24 to 72 hours.
