Department Of Veterans Affairs Caregiver Support Program Resumes Full Operations
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has announced that it is resuming full operations of the Program of Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers (the program). Previously, the program suspended revocations based on eligibility in order to conduct a three month strategic review of the program.
The three month review found that the program needed better communication about clinical revocations, improved internal processes and procedures, and additional staff training. Since the review, the VA has issued a new directive outlining staff responsibilities, Veteran and caregiver eligibility requirements, available benefits, and procedures for revocations from the program.
